Nice Ice Baby

How would you like to show your best friends your "2 carat pure carbon adamas ring?" If that sounds a little peculiar, try "2 carat diamond ring." Yes, the precious stones that we wear are actually carbon composed material and are the hardest material known to man. Grab your magnifying loop and let's head down to the jewelry store and shop!

The two most important properties of a diamond are brilliance and fire which make the stone attractive. From the "rough stage" the stone is cut, cleaved and polished. There are 4 characteristics to determine the quality and value of each diamond (known as the 4C's). These relate to the color, clarity, cut and carat weight of each diamond. Choosing the favored shape of the final stone might be a Round Brilliant, Oval, Marquise, Pear, Heart or Emerald and with 58 facets it is sure to be a beauty. The colorless diamonds, or white diamonds are the most familiar, but yellow, brown, orange, green, blue and red might tempt the eye.

From the flawless to small inclusions your diamond will be perfect for you. Be careful to watch out for stones with imperfections as this will decrease the value and will not be as brilliant in appearance. Also, if you are choosing a mounting for a loose diamond, be sure to select one that compliments the stone and is not overpowering. This will allow you to get the most out of your diamond.
